Understanding the Christian Worldview   Sean Finnegan seeks to discover how the first hearers of Jesus would have understood and responded to what he proclaimed. In order to do this we must first grasp the major themes of the Hebrew Scriptures as well as the social, political, and historical situations that occurred between the Old Testament and the New Testament. Then much attention will be paid to Jesus’ distinctive message as he spoke it and lived it out in the context of his own time. Other major themes discussed in this part include the ascension of Jesus, the outpouring of the spirit on Pentecost, the global mission, a look at the sermons in Acts, the atonement, the inclusion of Gentiles, and how the early post-resurrection worldview effected how Christians lived out their lives.

New Testament Greek   Karl Maresco is teaching a beginning biblical greek class starting with the alphabet and pronounciation and possibly moving on to noun case endings and verbs. This class will progress as fast or as slow as the students desire and/or are able to progress. After some basic grammatical concepts and vocabulary are taught I would like to move into translating some biblical passages most likely from the Gospel of John and 1 John. Come and enjoy, no previous foreign language experience necessary.
{9 classes--approximately 18 hours}

Holy Spirit Class   The seminar focuses on the portions of New Testament Scripture that explain the purposes and effects of the holy spirit in relation to the believer. Much attention was given to the Gospel of John chapters 13 through 17 because this is the teaching Jesus gave in order to prepare his disciples for life without him physically present. Also attention was given to other critical sections such as Romans 8; 1 Corinthians 12-14; 2 Corinthians 3 and more.
