Glad Tidings
Glad Tidings is a periodic publication (6 times per year) which includes several concise articles per issue on critical biblical subjects. Glad Tidings has been consistently published for the last ten years and we currently have approximately 1,300 subscribers. We have broken this mass of data into individual articles and catagorized them by topic below. Feel free to use the writings however you like (no copyright). » Something to Consider (61) is the first article at the begining of each Glad Tidings issue. In it are various short thoughts that may engender curiosity or provoke a specific action or simply lay out the tone of the rest of the issue.
» Kingdom Focus (Face to Face) (49) contains articles that speak about the earthly reign of Christ that will begin when he returns and continues until he hands the kingdom over to his Father (at the end of the millenium cf. 1 Cor 15.28). Jesus' purpose was to proclaim this coming kingdom (Luke 4:43). The gospel is also chiefly concerning the kingdom (Mat 4.17, 23; 9.35; 24.14; Mark 1.14-15; 10.15; Luke 4.43; etc.). » Parenting (27) is a challenging area for all. Fortunately the Scriptures have plenty to say in this area of life that can be directly applied today. Allthough our toys are electronic our children still run on the same principles they have for thousands of years. Delve into many areas of concern by reading these articles on parenting.
» Psalms (24) were memorized and sung by the ancient Israelites. There are many different types including psalms of adoration, thanksgiving, teaching, lament, imprecation, messianic expectation, etc. Read the articles in this category and be inspired by these ancient writings as generations have right up to today.
» The Sermon on the Mount (24) is the most extensive and clear cut teaching of Jesus in which we are instructed how to live our lives. This masterful sermon (found in Matthew 5-7) includes beatitudes, new covenant commands, warnings against hypocrisy, and encouragement to evidence the fruit of obedience in our lives. Articles in this section comment and elucidate on the many principles and instructions delivered by Jesus 2,000 years ago.
» Marriage (24) is a holy covenant relationship ordained by God between a man and a woman in which they leave their parents, cleave to one another, and become one flesh. This ideal sounds natural but in our present evil age marriage can be complicated by scores of opinions of "experts" who aren't using the Bible as their basis for truth. We invite you to come and discover what the Scriptures say on this subject and apply the principles in your life and see if what God says really works.
» Jesus Christ (20) is the Jewish Messiah who was born of the royal blood line of King David and is destined to establish Israel as the head of the new world government with headquarters at Jerusalem. Jesus is fully human (born miraculously without a human father) and he lived perfectly, preached the gospel of the kingdom tirelessly, exemplified and described how to live, was crucified for our sins, raised from the dead by his Father, ascended into heaven from which he coordinates his church, and will come to judge the living and the dead and establish God's rule on planet earth. Articles in this category cover his birth, his high priestly role, his temptations, his anointings, and some of his teachings.
» Prayer (20) articles describe how to pray, to whom we pray, what we should pray for and much more. Prayer is the Christian's life line (umbilical cord) to God--without it we wither and die. More resources on prayer can be found here.
» One God (18) "Hear O Israel, Yahweh our God is one Yahweh" (cf. Deut 6.4 & Mark 12.29). There is no God but Yahweh (the Father) and that God is one. Articles in this category explore the evidence for the biblical unitarian view of God's nature. Allthough we are aware that most Christians believe God is a trinity, we believe that there is more biblical evidence in favor of the belief that God is one than there is that He is three. Articles under this heading discuss the reasons why God is one and also cover texts that have been traditionally understood to contradict this simple truth. » Christian Living (16) is the practical application of the Scriptures in our daily lives. Following Christ (obeying Jesus) is not easy, but necessary, and God has uniquely equipped us to be able to be holy through His influence on us by way of His spirit. Articles here discuss how we can live out our faith in true obedience to the God who gave us life, forgave us, and has planned a wonderful future for us in the kingdom to come.
» The Holy Spirit (11) is one of the most misunderstood areas of Christian belief and practice. The Bible must be our source for information on spiritual matters. Thankfully, Jesus spent a great deal of time explaining the role of "The Spirit of Truth" during the last supper he had with his disciples before he was arrested. » Proverbs (6) are sayings inspired by God and written by Solomon. Unimaginable wisdom and prudence are given repeatedly throughout this book of the Bible. The proverbs apply directly to our lives and transend the centuries with incredible insight.
» Salvation (4) articles discuss the biblical Scriptures relevant to salvation, being born again, and other important teachings regarding perseverance and faithfulness to God in light of having been saved, being saved, and our future salvation when the kingdom comes.
» Other (4) These are the articles that resisted categorizing. Feel free to browse through and see if what you are interested in may be contained in this "other" category.
» Praise God (3) for He is the one Creator, the omnipotent Ruler, the genius Designer, the faithful Sustainer, who peers deep within each one's heart without difficulty to see our thought ands intents. Articles here explore the uplifting world of adoring, thanking, praising, venerating, and honoring our God.
