- As part of the weekend we will offer a number of interactive workshops. These workshops are designed to:
- Be interactive
- Promote discussion
- Give and receive biblical advice
- Share resources
Please come prepared to talk about your particular family situation – what has worked for you and what hasn’t- Questions are welcome! There will be break-out groups where you can meet others in similar family circumstances and you will be able to share with each other in a small, intimate setting. Here are the workshops we are offering:
Marriage
The respect that husbands and wives manifest to each other indicates what value they place on one another. When something is very precious, it is handled with the utmost care and respect. How much more should spouses respect one another? Let’s talk about this together, with the Scriptures.
Parenting
The aim of Christian parenting is that the child glorifies God and enters the Kingdom of God when Christ returns. The Scriptures provide all that is necessary to raise a child in the right way. Sometimes though, it can be most challenging! Let’s get together and chat about how to raise up our children in a godly, nurturing environment.
Parenting Adult Children
Learning the balance between helping and enabling our adult children requires great wisdom. If we overstep what is proper, we disrespect our children and hinder their growth. Come meet people facing the same challenge! We will talk practically about this stage of life.
Single Parenting
The task is indeed difficult and challenging but by no means impossible. God has special consideration and concern for single parents and their children. Join us in sharing godly wisdom and resources!
Singles
The focus of life should be on loving service for God and others. When we maintain the right mind-set, life can be sweet; whereas, attention on what we lack will sour life. Unite with other singles to discuss practical solutions about this commission.
Successful Stepparenting
The same principles which are used to maintain unity in the Church must be employed in stepfamilies. With God’s gracious help, two families can become one. Let’s connect and discuss the challenges and joys of becoming one family.
Teen Fellowship
Our society has become very disrespectful. Teens are constantly tempted to hold irreverent attitudes towards parents, adults, authorities, and even peers. God has determined that humanity was valuable enough for His Son to die for; so, we too should honor one another! Let’s get together to discuss this vital attribute.

The Scriptures often reiterate the importance of children honoring their parents and showing respect to all adults. For children to have good, long lives, they must learn to obey and honor their parents. The children’s program will focus on this central idea with interactive activities and projects.
